Herbal tea is not actually tea as it does not come from the “True Tea” plant. The true tea plant is the Camellia Sinesis leaf family and consists of Black tea, Green tea, Oolong tea, White tea and Pu’erh.
Instead, it is comprised of a combination of herbs, fruits, bark, leaves, roots or flowers. Herbal tea is also known as Tisane and pronounced tea-zahn does not contain any caffeine which true tea leaves do.
Herbal tea may be served hot or cold and is drunk for both medicinal purposes and simple enjoyment
